My Belonging: a photographic exploration
A creative photography workshop around the theme ‘belonging’.
Bring both new and old photographs together in a digital photobook to gain a deeper sense of what ‘belonging’ means to you.

Photography experience is not required, although people of all photographic skills/levels are welcome. Bring your own camera,
or a camera can be supplied.
Location
Workshops take place at the John Wellard Community Centre. Parking is free and it is a short 2 minute walk from the Wellard train station.

FREE workshop for the women of Wellard and surrounding communities.
Designed to promote wellbeing and awareness, this workshop offers the opportunity to explore your unique way and style through the art of photography.

In her workshops Julie focuses on developing intelligence around the language of images by exploring photography as a way to communicate and deepen our understanding.
She is the founder of a new social enterprise, ‘Healthy Mind Photography’ which encourages well-being through the process of creating photostories.
Julie has an MA in photojournalism
and has facilitated short photostory workshops in remote communities including the Pilbara region of WA,
and internationally in Greece, Israel and Nepal.
Workshops and programs are available for rural communities throughout Western Australia, with a specific focus for youth and women.

Create your photostory
This workshop is designed to offer an engaging experience for participants to enjoy and get value from.
This two-part workshop will help you identify what elements make a good photograph, and through a selection process, bring a series of your images together to create a ‘photostory’.
